Summer Camps.

Summer camps, sometimes also called 'Skating School' are an excellent and fun way to improve your skating and enjoy doing so. As the name suggests they are held within the summer months usually anywhere between the beginning of June until the end of August. There are numerous summer camps held in one country, the United States of America being particulary rich in summer camps due to its sheer size. Alot of summer camps will accomodate for skaters of all levels from beginner through high levels but not every camp will. Some camps are for more experienced skaters who already have passed a certain testing level, and this is always one of the first things to check out before your heart gets set on one camp, to avoid dissapointment at a later date. Usually a skater will pay for the lessons per week, and such activties as ballet dance, trampoline and gym work can be practiced too, but these extra lessons will be paid serperately to the instructor giving them. Not that many camps provide accomodation, and even if they do this is normally reserved for the older skater, so you will have to sort out your accomodation too.

Below are a few examples of summer camps which took place in the USA in summer 2005. All information has been taken from the site of the respective club, rink or camp, and there is a link so you can surf through. Please note that many of the links to brochures, application forms etc. below, will be in .pdf format. You will need Adobe Reader to read the .pdf file format.
